Bowls Raises Funds for The Hastings Cancer Trust

Over 120 people braved the wet and wild conditions to raise money for local breast cancer charities in Port City’s, Bowls for Boobs, 24-hour bowls event, on October 13.The event was designed to raise money for local breast cancer charities Hastings Cancer Trust and Aussie Dragonflies, with well over $4000 raised, and Port City’s Katy-Lee Waldron said the event exceeded exceptions.

“Overall we had an amazing turnout for the Bowls for Boobs event, people didn’t let the forecasted rain stop them coming down and having some fun, and in the end, we raised much-needed funds which was the point,” Ms Waldron said.

“Even though we had a storm, people were pretty committed to playing and raising the funds so everyone had a great time over the 24 hours.”

Bowls Coordinator at Port City, Phil Baker said the event was great.
