Meet the Trustees

Dr Stephen Begbie

Hastings Cancer Trust Founder and Chairman. Dr Begbie was the first resident Medical Oncologist on the Mid North Coast and has loved building the Mid North Coast Cancer Institute and seeing Cancer services reach regional NSW residents more generally. Based In Camden Haven, he has a passion for cancer research, health education and the Hastings-Macleay region. He currently serves on the MNC Local Health District board.

Shane Ryan

HCT Trustee. Shane is the Founder and Managing Director of Ryan Financial. He is a Chartered Accountant and Business Advisor, a food and wine lover and avid sports fan. Shane is a true Hastings local having been born in Port Macquarie.

Wayne Evans OAM

HCT Trustee. The former magistrate for Port Macquarie, Wayne is a member of a number of local boards. He is also an active volunteer at Sailability which is dedicated to providing sailing to people with disabilities.

Ron Fischer

HCT Trustee. Ron has been involved in real estate in the local area for many years, both as owner and principal of First National Real Estate and now as an employee of the business. Ron likes to spend time with his wife Belinda and their pets, he loves fishing and travel and also enjoys a nice wine and a barbeque with friends.
