The Thopaz has a battery powered electric pump in the system alleviating the need for patients such as Barry to remain in bed for the duration of their treatment. 

Rather than have a hose connected to wall suction Barry is able to move around the ward freely. The Thopaz provides medical staff with real time information to determine when it is safe to remove a chest drain. 

This is another example of the Hastings Cancer Trust achieving its goal of assisting our local medical professionals in providing the most up to date equipment for their cancer patients.
