What We Do

Cancer remains a leading cause of death in Australia. As our population grows we want to achieve nationally recognised, best practice standards of cancer care, facilities and research, without patients needing to seek treatment in major metropolitan centres like Newcastle or Sydney.

Donations and fundraising have allowed the Trust to grant more than  $810,000 since 2005 through our annual grants program, providing supplementary funding for projects and needs beyond the scope of ongoing Government funding for cancer services.

All funds received are administered by trustees, who are local people, aiming to fund local cancer projects on the basis of their value to the community.

Operated entirely by volunteers and without premises, every cent raised for the Trust goes to helping our community. Importantly, all funds raised stay in our local area.
